I leave the fuse taped (with electricians tape) inside the lid of the fuse box so I can re-install at any time. I forgot to put it back in for the last couple of MOT's...no problem Also worth putting lots of fluid (washer fluid with ant-freeze properties) in the water... if the pipes freeze they can cause leaks...

Guess it's more viable if you order other bits at the same time.... I'm waiting for the delivery of the washer valves, ordered from Amazon for £8 to see if that cures my problem, before I replace the heated jets themselves!

That sounds about right. They cost me about $50CAD...I too had the heated ones.

The frequent use of salt on the winter roads here make headlight washers very valuable. The headlights will get gray in no time otherwise.
They don't run each time you wash the windscreen, though. Every fifth I think it is. |

I also thought that was the case, but mine seem to be every time. Will need to run some more tests to confirm.

So, the one in five thing is a bit more complex than it first seems. If you wash the windscreen five times in a row within a minute or so, it will only do the headlights every fifth use. However, if you leave a gap of at least five minutes between use of wash wipe, then it resets and does the headlamps on every use.

Yes, that's true. And not too illogical, since if you've been driving for a longer time since last wash, the lamps are more likely to be dirty again.

I have the scatter nozzels too. They are nonadjustable.
They work great at low speeds but at 50mph+ I have the same problem as OP. At these speeds, because the water is spread out so much it is easily affected by the winds passing over the car, pushing it straight down to the windscreen. Not ideal. I seem to remember the washers on the P2 S60's being a lot better
