Default Bluetooth problem caused infotainment to hang

The infotainment Bluetooth function is causing the problem. It try to search the connection every couple min. and then it hang.... radio cannot work as well.

I have removed all the Bluetooth devices from the MEDIA and the PHONE section. Nothing left but somehow it still try to search my phone with text showing my phone name....

I have also reset the system by disconnect the batter for couple min. but it still try to search my phone with text showing my phone's name despite all other settings are gone. Include system time.

Anyone know how to reset the system completely?

If I need to replace the headunit (infortainment), can I just buy used one from internet and replace it directly? Is some sort of activation code required?

Thanks....

Ok to start with,

What car do you have with what infotainment system??,

What phone do you have and is it upto date software wise??,

Your car may just require a software update to enable it to be compatible with your phone as bluetooth is alot more complex than it seems and especially apple keep changing its protocols for compatability,

The units can be changed but will require the infortainment security to be turned off on your vehicle before you can and thats a dealer only job if they will do it as its really ment to be for diag purposes only.

Car is Volvo S60 2011 saloon. Don't know how to identify the type of infotainment system but I open up the panel and see it is the same as many for sell in eBay. Like this one I attached. Same part number.

So many items for sell on eBay. I wonder how could people replace them or they just buy one and realize cannot use hence sell it again on eBay!? LOL

My phone is Apple iPhone but I give up to connect to it. All I want is disable all Bluetooth devices and make radio working...

Angry How to hard reset infotainment Bluetooth settings?

I am trying to find out a way to reset/clear all the previous settings in the infotainment system. Especially the existing Bluetooth devices. I have tried:

1). Remove all Bluetooth devices from MEDIA and PHONE section. Nothing left from the list.
2). Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, the infotainment still remember the bad Bluetooth connection. Every now and then it try to connect my old phone with text showing my phone name. Then it hang the system include the radio.

Despite I can see all other settings are gone. Like system time. Somehow, somewhere, infotainment still REMEMBER my old phone name!

Anyone got an idea on making it lose memory? (Apart from using hammer which I might do soon )
