Default WTB: Good 940/740 turbo diesel (2.4 dtic)

Hi all,
I'm looking for a decent, well looked after manual 940 or 740 dtic. Needs to be up together-I don't mind sorting out minor bits but this car needs to be good to go for daily driving. Ideally not telephone number miles.

I'm not fussed as to whether it's a saloon or estate, I already have a petrol 940 estate and am after a car that will be more of a workhorse, as my 940 is mint and has only done 75k, so want to keep that nice and split my mileage between the two.

I've never owned a diesel 7/900 car so figured it was time I did!

Please let me know if you have anything that might fit the bill

740, 760 mk1 and early 940 were not available with intercooler, only 760 mk2 and later 940 were.

Thanks kev, very useful info. I'm not overly concerned re the intercooler, but I definitely want a turbo rather than the naturally aspirated one.

I spotted the 940 saloon on the Bay, the seller isn't responding to my messages though sadly. That, coupled with the blurry pics, can of easystart in the passenger's side seat bin and pic cropped to exclude number plate for MOT history checking put me off a bit...would be an ideal car if it was a bit better described and a bit closer to me (I'm in Dorset). Not that travelling is an issue, but Wakefield is a fair way upcountry!

Default Diesel

Its definitely worth waiting for an example that's well looked after rather than buying one that a person didn't respect. Ideally a enthusiast owned one.

Good ones do come up for sale and you have a group of helpful knowledgeable D24T fans on here....best of luck with search!

Thankyou! I totally agree. I know they're a niche car and definitely want to buy one that has been properly cared for. I know there is a pocket of enthusiasts for them here so I figured that this would be the best place to start my search!

Default Volvo 940 td m reg

I've just Sorned my M reg 940 td as I've just not used it very much since I've gotten it as I've had use of vans over the last couple of years and I'm in two minds whether to sell it or keep it. It's a low miler with only 139k miles on the clock, the last owner was a club member who had owned it for over 19 years. Could do with a new battery as it doesn't seem to hold the charge well, otherwise fires right up and chugs along nicely. I've also got a full length SDG galvanised roof rack on it off my old one. I've had it a few years now and really haven't driven it very much. Just before I bought it, it had a new radiator fitted and the front brakes overhauled including new calipers. It's far from a concourse car but is a genuine honest low miler/owner example. Let me know if it sounds of interest and we can have a chat about it.

As it appears I have not posted enough here I can't seem to reply to PM, so if you want to call me on 07940007795 we can discuss this over the phone.
