Door locking issues 2005 Xc70
Hi there,
I seem to have an issue with the locking of the doors. When the car is unlocked, on opening the rear passenger doors they will lock so when shut they will no longer be able to be opened from the outside unless pressing the key unlock button again. A work around for this was when hearing the door lock I would use the interior handle to unlock it from the inside before shutting. It is happening every time now and ideally I would like to resolve it. I thought initially it might be some sort of child lock setting from a previous owner but seems its probably more of a fault now. Following this when locking the car on occasions the drivers door wont lock. Instead I have to unlock the whole car and lock it again and then the drivers door will lock. Looking for a little help on what to do here, as unsure if this is an electric issue or if replacing the individual problematic lock actuators will be the solution? Car is a 2005 xc70 D5. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

I have 2005 XC70 with a similar issue - except it's only the offside rear door that does what the OP describes - locks the door intermittently - in other words, not always.
I can't find any pattern to when this is happening - just now and then. I unlock it from the driver's door lock/unlock switch and it unlocks and when opened and then closed it may - or may not lock. Puzzling.
