Its hard to say just going on figures, but it doesnt look a good brew...
Im not sure if/how viscosity may affect an auto box, but there us a marked difference there in viscosity and density, plus for a thinner fluid the cold pour is higher, suggesting a poorer viscosity index/base oil/polymers.
Just looking at these two alone, it would put me off, but then it would be better to have specs from a range of fluids to gain more insight and get a more typified set of figures.

yea I should have looked at it more closely before buying. I've currently got Millers in there which is very close in spec to Volvo.

This stuff just looks too cheap to be true. it's about 25% off spec. How can it still be labelled as 3309? what makes it 3309 fluid?

Is it Jws3309 or 'meets'/'suitable for'/'performance profile' etc?

Why not ask Opie if they can lay hands on the spec range allowed for JWS 3309? And who makes the rules, as it were?

Go to www.bobistheoilguy.com and post this in their transmission fluid section.

Many of those blokes are quite helpful. Someone will provide Toyota T-IV specs and perhaps others.

The 4 or 5 different fluids I've used in our transmissions (No. American so I won't list 'em here) have been just fine but I've never compared the specifications side-by-side.

Retail shop or online purchase? Return the stuff if economical to do so.

I did some searching to see if the Type IV I put in there from Toyota is indeed comparable, but so far the only info I found was a similar product with non SI values (WTF is "cSt" ??? Sometimes those Yanks and their reluctance to adopt things the rest of the world is in agreement upon, really **** me off...).
