Default Door mirror

Hi a bit of a silly question but does anybody know how to remove the colour matched rear cover from the door mirror on my 850 T5 . Some nice person in a car park decided to knock mine of and leave it dangling. I have picked up another but need to change the rear covers over. Also how easy is it to remove the inner door panel or is it easier th just splice the wiring together inside the mirror?
thanks for your help
Ken

To remove the coloured part prise off the mirror lense, behind that you'll find four clips poking through the metal backing plate, squeeze these together one at a time (It's fiddly) and the coloured part will just pop off.

You can actually do it (just) with the mirror lens in place and a small, but long-ish flat screwdriver..
You need to pivot the mirror lens to it's extreme to get at the tabs though.

You probably can but being as removing the mirror is only a matter of unclipping it, why would you?.
