Hi Jod T5
I own a '99 S70 with a 2.435L engine, the car has a connector marked obdII on the cover, inside the arm rest. The check engine light came on a few days ago, no change in the way the car works. Will your DIY work for this version? or the only choices I have is to try a Volvo repair shop or disconnet the battery.
Thank u for your help
Israel

Default code reader device for S70 '99

The car is Belgian built 1999 S70 with a 2,5L 20v gasoline engine, the engine managment sys. is Motronic 4.4 or 4.3 I'm not sure.
I built the Flash code reader u suggested (How to build a Phase 2,4.3Motronic..) , I connected + end to #16 and the - to #3(switch off) the light didn't come on, so I went no further.
What can I do next, disconnect battery? go to the Volvo dealer?
I appreciate your help

The flash code reader is designed for the Phase 2 850 and Fenix 10v '70...
It will be of no use on your car im afraid....

Jod,

I'm very late picking up on this thread. I have a 1996 2.5 20v auto - will your code reader work with my car? If it will do you have any left or am I too late?

Best wishes

Alan

Hi Alan
This thread is a sticky and as such will rumble on "in memorium"...lol
The flash code reader will work on the 850 LH3.2 ECM, fitted to the 20v
