Or has this part of the engine fundamentally changed ?
I think the new V60 D4 engine uses Ad Blue to comply with emissions regulations.

It does use AdBlue. While some of us suspect that this means that these later models should be unaffected by EGR blockage and therefore manifold-related recall issues, we don't know this for a fact.

Does anyone know if this could be caused by the replacement manifold? We’ve had no engine light or other symptoms. Car is on 46k and does 40 miles a day, it’s her car and I’m very rarely in it, I haven’t been in the car when it’s played up so I’m only going on what she’s told me.
Thanks, Luke
Discombobulated.... the stalling and low revs issue sounds more like a gummed up EGR valve.... that was the precursor to my car needing the egr/cooler replaced.

Same here, the valve was sticking open. They then discovered during the work that the cooler was blocking up again (it had already been previously replaced)

Hi guys

Did you read this article ?
Volvo recalls eight models for engine fix | CarAdvice
https://www.caradvice.com.au/776867/...engine-recall/

Volvo has announced a recall for the 2014-18 V60/S60, 2017-18 S90, 2015-19 V40/V40 Cross
Country, 2017-18 S90, 2017-19 V90 Cross Country, 2014-17 XC60, and 2016-18 XC90 over concerns about an issue with the engine valve.
According to the company, the valve could leak and make the intake manifold melt or deform. If the manifold is damaged, the engine could lose power.
A total of 3828 vehicles are affected – a VIN list is attached here.
Volvo will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
If owners notice any unusual engine operation, such as the engine management light being lit, engine interruption or lack of power, please contact your local Volvo retailer, the company says in the original recall notice.

When they talked about valve, did they mean intake valves which let the air come into the cylinders or did they mean EGR valve ?

In july 2018, some experts measured a leakage on my V60 D4 181 HP intake valves.

Regards

Chris

Another interesting document: A12-1102-19

A document from the European Commission about our problem.
This document is the source of the Volvo recall R29939.

Default Volo UK not contributing

Just been told I need a new O2 pipe - cost around 130 but no contribution from Volvo UK. I will get the exact codes and call them myself.

Not heard of this, where is the O2 pipe?

Sorry - turns out it is an emap pipe? Dealer says not related EGR so I have to fork out £150.

That's been reported a few times (in other threads?). Someone did remove and clean out the soot that was blocking their pipe, but it took a while. It's on the exhaust side of the engine not the intake side, so unfortunately not part of Volvo goodwill. Just another charming 'feature' of this poorly designed engine!
