Default lpg tank.

on my estate a 240se could i use the extra spare wheel space to fit a dounut tank into. that would be the o/s rear. if so could i have the filler cap coming out where the petrol cap is(would save a lot of work if it could) to save making another hole in the body work. i am thinking of changing over to lpg and if i could fit the tank myself it should cut down the cost of the insulation as the rest i couldn't do myself (to technical).

You can fit the tank is place of the spare wheel on the NS but on the OS you would have to use a much smaller tank to clear the petrol filler area.

It is possible to fit the LPG filler in place of the petrol filler but that is only if you are going LPG only and removing the petrol tank. We normaly fit the LPG filler under the bumper to allow filling from either side.

You will find that the reason the tank is the expensive part is not the fitting but down to the type of tank needed. The 240 estate uses a special upright tank not a conventional laid flat type tank and that is why they cost more.

How much have you been quoted for the conversion?

Thats not a bad price if they have allowed for the vertical tank. I've not had that email from you as yet. Probably best to try resending.
