Default 163 bhp performance any good ?

Hi

Just wondered what owners thought of the xc60 163 manual ?

Im looking at replacing my 2008 bmw 320d. Im not expecting the same performance as the bmw is slightly more bhp and lighter. But I can find any figures for 50 - 70 mph. Does the 163 have sufficient power for over taking ?

I've also been told by my company that Volvo are stopping the d3 2.0 163 and only the 2.4 AWD will be available with 163 bhp. Has anyone else heard this ? Makes sense as the AwD has the same co2 and mpg as the FWD.

I would love to hear any experiences with the 163.

Thanks Rob

For me the performance is more than adequate but most D5 owners will probably disagree. There are even an odd few who insist on the Polestar upgrade as 215bhp is just not enough for them :-)

weight, gearing and where in the rev range the engine develops the power will have more bearing in the real world than BHP.

simple answer is to go for a test drive and see if it suits you.

Was totally surprised at the amount of grunt when I first drove my d3 geartronic.

That's surprisingly acceptable in gear times for a big diesel motor.
