Dash lights
ok need an electrical wizz kid for this !
Couldent find me lighter so pushed ciggy lighter and a big BANG few sparks dash lights no work got home popped bonnet checked fuses all ok Now TRYING to work from wireing d/gram if i jump the brown/orange to white on the reostat ( dash dimmer switch ) i get me dash lights back and dimmerble so my thoughts is the fuseable live feed of the bn/or wire is at fault but fuse ok and change for new on the d/gram after fuse is 24/13 but under that is a square with 18 in it what is this i am crap at reading wireing d/grams could you also piont me to fix this as jumping is bypassing the fuse so is NOW DANGEROUS

Most likely a blown relay rob. I've both a spare set of relays and a light dimmer switch tar I can drop into you at end of march. Btw did that package arrive yet?
have you checked the actual lighter for melted wires? I can, over thd weekend, trace the wiring on the spare central electrics look I've stashed in the garage and visually send you the wiring sequence if that helps? Cheers Bren

hey bren thanks for that and also a sorry for not getting back to you no parcle as yet
got the ciggy lighter out and the PO had boged the light in with elecy tape which had melted and somehow when the lighter was pushed in it shorted the light god knows how also do ya fancy practising a cam belt change on me car when your over

The 24/13 with a number 18 in it is a connector, I seem to recall answering a similar query over the weekend on another site did I not?? - Mike

yes you did and my opoligies for not getting back to you but im struggling to understant page 96 im working on the haynse manual like i said im crap at wireing D/grams and dont understand techy talk

Download the correct wiring diagram from Mathews Volvo Site as that's the diagram I was using - Mike

downloaded and still makes no sence to me think ill go down the rote of relay first
