Is the car auto or manual?
Auto is Motronic 4.3

The best work around is a 12v LED and a momentary switch no need for a resistor.
and Vol-FCR.
The Engine ECU and Climate and Cruise need the Led switch method

The other modules work with Vol-fcr or similar. Seats, ABS, Service reset, Transmission, SRS, Alarm and Instruments.

You will not get codes from an OBD2 reader for Climate, Engine or Cruise on this year model. The LED method is the way.

Hi nickm, thanks for your input. The car is an auto. I have suspected that obd on this model is just too early to give all the info I’m looking for. I’d hoped not to have to rely on the led method, mainly as I haven’t taken the time to fully research and understand it. Might simplify the process overall though..
