**Warning- Ancient thread revival**

Well he is learnig to drive just now. I bought a 2003 Fiesta sacrifice car for him to destroy if needed. There is not a straight panel on it, it's ideal to learn to drive in. I have a V70 auto but I reckoned a manual would be better in the long run.

Wow! It was only 2 minutes ago that I read about your son's adventurous arrival... and now he's already driving! They grow up so fast!

I hadn't seen this thread before so that was quite the read - well done in 2006!

Crikey...feeling old now...our lad is 17 next month. He has no great interest in cars but is obsessed with flying. I don't know where I'm going to find the €80k for his pilot training. Trying to convince him to obtain his degree first then he can do whatever he wishes.

Good luck with the driving lessons!

Hi, yes mine is 17 now and in 6th year at school doing advanced highers before he wants to go to St Andrews to be an astrophysicist! Plan is to get his licence before he heads off. His sister finishes Uni this coming year and will learn to drive next summer. All very expensive. £40 a lesson now! EEk. My cousin's son went to Spain to become a pilot and it too was £80k. He is/was fying for Flybe I think. I hope he does well.
