1800s rear wheel bearing change
Just a quick question..going to tackle both sides.
removing the bearing from the 1/2 shaft ...is there another way of getting the bearing off without a press?..

Quote:
Use MK1 eye balls a lot! Don't damage the shaft - if you have to kill anything kill the bearing (even if it comes to cutting)

How? I was going to say that this job used to be a common one with rear-wheel drive cars so likely not a problem for an old school garage. Many have a suitable press anyway and it is a very quick job when you have the kit. Off with the old and on with the new and you'd be away in no time, maybe with just a donation to the tea boat.
