Default 06 Xc70 D5 185bhp clamp for charge pipe under engine

I was under the car yesterday removing in the lower engine mount. Didn't realise the charge pipe from turbo to IC went under the car. I had to loosen this pipe due no room for my socket. Much easier on a petrol lol

Anyhow the clamp has a strange 5.5mm screw through the band and into pipe through the seal.

Is this an OE clamp with a bolt though as I've never seen one like this before.
I need to get another clamp as this one slips.

Mine was exactly the same on my 2007 XC90 D5.

Those orange seals often fail so I replaced that entire plastic assembly with a silicon one designed for the purpose.

So your had a 5.5mm nut through the band too?

I have seen the silicone hose replacing the resonator.

Yes.

I replaced the resonator as a matter of course when I did the cambelt , gearbox oil and rear engine mount.

Those orange seals are a bit of a weakpoint so I replaced the entire unit with a silicon one.

Touch wood, no problems so far. Quality was good.

Cheers.

What is the point of the resonator?

I believe that it is something to do with cutting induction noise down hence it's name .

That said, I have not noticed any increase in noise since fitting the silicon pipe and I have done away with the two orange resonator seals in the process.

Those seals can cause boost issues as well as other problem if and WHEN they leak so I bit the bullet and dispensed with it.
