This morning I did changed the air filter, and wanted to change the sparkplugs but turned out that my socket is not fit into the hole. I need to find a tinner socket.

I really can't decide what to do about the t4, on one hand I could get the engine out and then rebuild bits as and when I can afford it over the course of several months, but on the other hand it's parked in my driveway and is sort of in the way, I have nowhere under cover to put it to work on, plus it's winter time, I could sell it to someone who's got the time and space to get it done as it's too good to go for scrap, but I know the second I part with it I'll wish I hadn't, it's a tough decision.

Visited my daughter for a week to replace:
Heater core
Evaporator
Condenser
Ac compressor
Small cooling hose off thermostat
Rear wheel hub and
Alternator pulley

Kind of made me question my sanity.

All done. Scrapes and sore hands to prove it.

I know that feeling. Having a 2000 S40 T4 and 2003 V40D, it kinda feels like forth road bridge at the moment.

So you can't work on it in the winter, so put it into a corner out of the way. Slide it in on a jack if you have to. Take the battery off and put it indoors, keep it charged. You only need to be able to get one door open.

Then you can pull it out of it's storage in the summertime. I think you'll regret it if you sell it. You love it, you know you do.

There's been a development, found an engine that's pretty local and a pretty decent price, I'll get that, a recon turbo and a new fuel pump, should be pretty much set then, oh and a 2nd hand steering rack as that failed the MOT as it leaks.

Been away working for 6 weeks, came home to a water leak from the bottom of the radiator (seam?). Both tail gate rear struts out of gas and time to remove the lower additional spoiler (it keeps grounding and the middle section is missing now). ITV (MOT) is due in January. Will have to remove the main beam LEDs (great that they are) replace them after test. Two new screen wipers needed (those single type thingies). Everything else (reset AirBag light too) seems OK.

Hoping to have sorted the misfire issue out.
Since I've had S40 T4 it's always took several turns to start, changed the newish Volvo burnt out spark plugs with the replacements. On giving it a bootful and at high speed there was still an occasional misfire.
Changed the fpr off the doner car, both cars are T4, same part number but slightly different. The old one loose, the old doner one a tight fit. Now starts at turn of key, test drive needed.

What with having some holiday left from last year at work, I was able to engineer things whereby I don't start back again until Monday, perfect I thought.

It's only been about 2 maybe 3 weeks since I started the t4 so thought I'd run her up and down the drive a few times to make sure the brakes aren't stuck or anything, battery was flat, so charged that up, got her running, fuel guage showed dead empty and the word FUEL in the miles to go part, so put 5l in it, still says FUEL, ah well, probably something just stuck.

Then I looked at the tyres, both front ones totally flat, damn, found the ciggy socket powered blower upper I have, apart from the t4 doesn't have a working socket because I swapped it over with the broken one that was in the SE, so managed to dig out my old booster jump starter which is broken, but has a power socket, ciggy lighter unit robbery successful.

Tyres pumped up, up and down the drive a few times, an initial clunk from each wheel but everything seems good, then I see a wisp of steam coming out of the bonnet, opened it up and can't see any water leaks but there's steam coming off the top of the radiator and it's smells like hot anti freeze, marvellous.

Then I put the SE back in the drive and one of the headlight bulbs went, damn you 2019 lol.
