Received some pressed steel number plates today - job for the weekend!

Also received a litre of IPA, so I can C4 my bumper trim - possibly this weekend too.

You put the idea in my head, Kieran!!!!

Did you just stick your's on, or did you use screws too?

I was planning on 'no more purchasing', other than polish and servicing, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside, already.

Planning on a stainless steel exhaust, next month.

Polishing the S40 next month and treating the wheels to some Ceramashield coating, plus the paint will be getting the Gtechniq C1 and EXO treatment.

Gary

Received my Autel al419 code reader today. I'm sure its not a genuine UK import but it still seems to work fairly well.

It told me I had a glow plug fault and randomly a MAF fault popped up whilst I was using it.

The odd thing is the MAP value is stuck at 14psi or 100kpa even with the engine idle or off. It will go up and down with the revs but I think I have to count 14psi as 0psi and any deviation to be the actual reading. Whether this the dodgy foreign import scanner software (most likely) or a true false reading I guess I'll never know unless I get it professionally looked at!

Anyway, this false reading lead me to leap to the conclusion that the car was over boosting and that this was causing the ECU to reduce the fuel to the engine to prevent damage but I'm sure this ought to throw a code!
I was nearly convinced I needed a new n75/boost control valve based on this!
Fortunately the MAF code (which may have been incidental, seemed to trigger as I turned the engine off) caused me to try unplugging the MAF. The result, the car drives almost as normal! I'm getting boost whereas with the vacc pipe off the turbo it'll barely haul itself along (press accelerator to the floor and nothing really happens). With the MAF disconnected it pulls as well as it ever has.

Problem is I don't want to buy a new MAF...

Gary you have asked the million dollar question I am going to have to drill them on I have just used the sticky pads for now which great they have lasted a few months but they are starting to come off a bit so the drill is going to have to come out something matt did tell me lol, the front bumper curves so water gets behind the plate and causes the issue, back one is still on

I did one a few years ago, matt.

It was moved to the showroom, I think.

If anyone needs any advice, I am always happy to help, where I can.
