Default V60 Accident Damage

Evening all,

Unfortunately yesterday my V60 came into contact with a bench at low speed <5mp. As luck would have it, the front left DRL and headlight washer smashed. The bumper will need to be replaced... have attached an image of the damage.

I've taken to the car to Volvo who pointed me in the direction of their approved independent body shop. They've quoted between £800-1000, stipulating damage could be worse once they've removed the bumper for inspection. The estimator said he would likely have to replace the headlight unit (which is totally undamaged) because of a clip used to secure washer bottle or screenwash tube to the headlight washer.

Going down the insurance route unfortunately isn't an option. I entirely appreciate this is my own stupidity but what is the best option for me? Would an independent garage be able to fix the damage?

I'd ask around your local area for recommended independants.
There's no reason for it having to be Volvo approved unless it's for corrosion warranty work which the bumper isn't.

Thanks for the prompt response.

Because the DRL smashed, the headlamp washer broke and some additional plastic (looks like some kind of bracket) fell out on the road, I assumed it needed to go back to the manufacturer?

Or is that not the case? I was worried incase there was further damage.

Any bodyshop will have the ability to source parts to repair it.
Just choose one that comes highly recommended.

Thanks for the responses gents. I've taken the headlight out and inspected the damage myself. I think I can repair the headlight washer and DRL if someone could point me in the right direction for replacement parts? Can these be bought online or direct from Volvo?

Easy enough to fix a bracket with hot stapler most bodyshops will have one.
