Default 1997 V70R AWD Auto in Saffron - Spares or repair

I acquired this fairly recently, beer was possibly involved in the purchasing decision however having spent a weekend or so on it... the reality is at the moment I have limited time / space to get more involved thus it's decision time to either store it for a while or just pass it on.

1997 Volvo V70R AWD
Automatic
Saffron Gold
AWD though more on that later...
202,000 miles
MOT to February

First up, it was bought with an engine misfire which has since been diagnosed as a burnt valve on No.1 cylinder thus it has zero compression. The remaining four all measure around 160PSi. The bore and piston appear unscathed. It will start, it will drive... I don't recommend it.

Second, on that note... it's north of Edinburgh, I wouldn't contemplate driving it back to Southend or even over the Forth Bridge for that matter. If you think you could, you're mental but good luck. You have been warned.

The car is standard aside drilled and grooved discs which have probably seen better days but aside for that and some dark grey, recently refurbished Comets it's all as it was from the factory... which is why it appealed to my gin fuelled inner child. Front tyres are new, rears are not. Has the twin exit exhaust which looks ok as does the floor.

Aside for that, there's no rot but its had paint at some stage in its life and it's none the worse for it. Front bumper is there, complete, has a small crease on the lip that'd likely heat out. It's straight down the doors as Mike Brewer would say, no crap add ons or signs that it's been owned by an idiot despite its 15 pervious keepers. Interior is beige and in need of a thorough clean and a head unit, if time allows I'll address this before sale of before it goes off to re-emerge in 5 years with me claiming "barn find" bollocks.

The AWD probably doesn't work, did they ever? The prop is missing, I've no idea why... or where it is and I've no idea why it was removed so assume the worst. My thinking was to put a 2wd back on it and part out the AWD bits to those in need. It may happen yet. The car drives, has been driven and it was actually ok... has had new top mounts etc recently, bit wandery, might be alignment, might be gin.

So, to recap it's an original saffron V70R with no modifications and in fairly good order cosmetically so if you have a trailer, know your way round a socket set and have an understanding other half then this could be a good purchase. Couple of weekends work and it'd be running again (maybe) then invest some time in the running gear and it'd be a decent, usable daily not to get too precious over, which was my thinking. And may end that way.

Car is in Fife, that's in Scotland... factor that in before you even think "Oooh, game on!" and please also note this will NOT be broken, certainly not whilst my name is on the V5 so don't ask. It goes complete or not at all.

I'll chuck £2750.00 in to the equation just for the sake of a figure but happy to discuss if you are genuinely interested, but again please note it won't be £500 or £1000 or £1500 or £2000... and it won't be swapped for anything but cash or a bank transfer for an agreeable amount.

Battled with photo upload sites for 20mins now, ping me a message if this is of interest and I'll email you a few over or send a walk round video.

Cheers
