How long did it take the VOC to remove and ban Adam and Hamish once they where uncovered as rougue traders?

Actually, thats what I was thinking the other day.


The dishonest, disreptuable and downright crooked will always lie, obfuscate, refuse to apologise, show any remorse, and play the "they are picking on me" victim card - once they've been found out as well as whilst trying to cover their tracks.

they will also at every turn, attempt to influence, lie, contact, cajole, and bully where neccessary the moderation/admin teams to do their bidding and remove "nasty comments". I bet the moderation team/admin team won't comment on how many complaints/pm's they have received from Mr. Thompson with regards to closing/removing/editing of posts/topics/

What I find particularly appalling, is that in the case of Mr. Weber, who's actions were equally as appalling as Mr. Lindseys - one got told "Your'e having a larf aintcha" and was banned immediately, whereas one, despite holding multiple accounts, and having hid identities multiple times, (and also having threatened the VOC with legal actions alongside Mr. Lindsey costing a considerable amount of VOC's funds/time) was welcomed with open arms.

I recall MUCH talk about the VOC having "Grown a pair" in the past, and also much talk about when there was proven court cases, or compelling evidence of wrongdoing towards VOC members, one of whom was a Director - that the Volco OWNERS club would act and remove such traders from the VOC in every way.

Maybe there should be a motion passed at the next AGM for the club to be renamed to VTC - yes indeed reader, let me present to you

the "Volvo TRADERS Club".

Because by continuing to allow such disreputable, crooked ****s to advertise, join and participate in flogging their services/PR bull to members - they are without a doubt NOT acting in the OWNERS best interests, but rather to the best interests of the Traders.

To those Mods/VOC hierarchy who don't disagree with me as such, it ain't aimed at you guys

I cannot rid my mug of a wry smile with what Ben has written, as little has changed over the passed couple of years.

Yes, those few controlling, but not owning the VOC have put the day to day handling of this busy and generally valuable site in the hands of a partially independent team and that team does allow this type of conversation to develope to the advantage of the community, much to their credit.

However, the VOC does not react particularly well to the underlying issues of it being of benefit to the wider community in some very important areas and this has cost it somewhat in the coincidental establishment of www.t5d5.org as a small but busy site giving the opportunity to all, traders and owners alike, to exchange the most robust and honest views on all subjects. The events of the last few weeks have shown that Volvo UK themselves at the highest management level, having experienced the company of many who frequent T5D5 at the Castle Coombe circuit, hold them in some regard as good, loyal and valuable ambassadors for their brand, civilised company too....

Despite having been an evangelist for the VOC for some years, personally, I fell foul of the management of it on matters arround this subject a couple of years ago, my continuing membership was refused, as was the acceptance of my advertising, although my ability to post has never been withdrawn.

So let me get this right, Adam aka Turbo-Tuner and RT are still able to post and advertise their wares even though they have both been proven to be dishonest and crap at the job they do...imo and others

But Don is unable to advertise his wares on the site in the traders section and the VOC turned down his adverts and money? Even though he has done nothing wrong that myself and others are unaware of.(except for not answering the odd phone call )

Hmmmm if what i believe is true then there is NO HOPE FOR YOU ALL!!!

This forum is run as an independent entity, by a separate team of people from the club. As such, I cannot speak for the clubs position on RT or Adam Weber, although I believe that the club now refuses advertising from HLM in Driver magazine.

However, Don is free to post as a trader on these forums and, to my knowledge has never been prevented from doing so.

The forum support team are keeping a very close eye on Russell Thompson and Adam Weber and threads discussing their services.

I'm sure if Don became a crook, got multiple accounts, told customers "I have had your money now f*ck off" and lied to a court he would then also be welcomed.

It seems it's not what you do but who you do it to that counts.

Oh come on pettaw....

It's still Bob (the VOC Chairman) at the helm of the forum as the ultimate "Forum Admin". albeit the moderation team have been left alone to do it pretty much their own way.

To sell it as a "seperate entity" is somewhat "splitting hairs" and particularly fine ones... VOC still pay for the forum hosting bills, the VOC Chairman is still the primary forum admin with the ultimate big red button...

I will reiterate, I'm not condemning, nor having a pop at the mods

Don may be able to post, however I do believe his VOC membership was refused, as was his advertising in the VOC driver magazine - but also on the seperate entity VOC forum..
