Thinking of purchasing above, but does anyone know if they have lowered suspension, or just bodykit?? Its a 2007.

Cheers

This will be one of the last models before the face-lift.
Sport model comes with the front, rear and side skirts/spoilers.
18" alloys with 215/45 tyres.
I believe the suspension is lower but better "tuned" than the stock model.

Check the specs carefully, there are a few additional "packs" which may or may not have been factory extras.

Can you not stretch your budget to the face-lift equivalent "R-Design" model?

A few of us on here are face-lifting our models to the R-Design version!
You'll enjoy either way :-)

Its for my (retired) parents. They weren't really after a Volvo, (they left Volvo (had 5) for VW for cheaper servicing!) but this was has appeared with good miles & price, but a bit worried if too low for them (they tow as well).

Thanks for the info.

Don't forget the Sport model has quite a stiffer ride on it's 215/45 tyres. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy driving my 2006 V50 2.0D Sport but it does tend to 'crash' over all the potholes and I find myself weaving around the ones I know in the road on my way to and from work! When I miss one I'm worried about buckling the rims (which I've just had refurbished!). 'Oldies' may not like the harsh ride!!

215 45 R18 93W tyres are also VERY, VERY expensive and don't seem to last that long (less than 10,000m in some cases) as other people have written about on the forum before.

I agree with stevo83 and would look into an SE or SE Lux.

Good luck with whatever you choose RoscoMac.

Totally agree SE Lux or SE spec. Sport or R-Design have hard suspension and 18 inch wheels will give an even harder ride.

Wheels make the biggest difference

Sports springs on 17" is acceptable, on 18" will be 'hard' unless you're into that kind of thing.

Stick with 17's you should be OK - they really do make a huge difference (had both 17's and 18's on mine.) 18's corrupt the feel of the steering and ride IMHO too.

Find them an S model with 16" wheels. The Sport with 18" wheels is very firm and they also kick up a lot of road noise too.

Thanks for everyones comments. Test drove the car and it didnt seem too bad suspension wise. I was pleasantly surprised actually. Folks decided not to take it though. Why is it, when Sales staff describe the cars as "mint", they never are, or am I just too pernickety...??! :-)

Cheers

Very rare you come across a mint second hand car.

Most folk don't look after their cars very well. Not many people wash & polish their car's exterior & as for cleaning their cars interior, let’s not go there.
Infract judging by my neighbors once every six months if the car is lucky does it get washed & that’s probably via the car wash or at the supermarket, & I have seen the quality of their water and cleaning cloths.

The same goes for replacing worn & broken parts both mechanically & cosmetically, its one thing getting the car serviced but if it needs work doing it needs to be done for a reason.

I must be clearly clinically insane cleaning the outside every week including giving the wheels a good clean on the insides. Polishing the exterior every so often & taking the Hoover out of the house to clean the car out.
