Question best caravan towing mirror for xc60

i have just purchased a 2009 volvo xc60 diesel and have placed an order for an 18ft jurgen skygazer caravan. would like some advice on the best towing mirror to buy. i read the info on the milenco mirrors and in fact purchased the larger size but have sent them back as they vibrated excessively. would the smaller size in the milenco be any better. if not are there suggestions re other brands.

i've just got the small, teardrop shape, and i find they vibrate as well and don't rate the visable coverage area that good, like the clamp system though, i use these on my landrover discovery http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/none-sma...mirror-p116738
not so good on the v50 as it pushes the door panel in and you need to put a piece of foam under the rubber strap or you get a druming noise at speed.

I have found when towing most mirrors vibrate and hinder rear vision themselves. The strap around the OEM mirror itself prohibits view in the car wing mirror itself. I used to tow without extended mirrors because of this and eventually had a tug of the police due to no extended mirrors. The rules state simply that 'you need to have good adequate view to the rear etc'. (check for current regs though) XC60 wing mirrors are big and may provide this.

I showed that having extended mirrors made my rear vision worse due to the vibration and the straps over the OEM mirrors and the cars OEM mirrors were more than adequate on their own. (not XC60 at the time mind)

Regards

Default Towing mirrors for XC60

The Milenco mirrors which "screw" on to the door mirrors are great, but can you get them in NSW?.

Those won't be the legislation that applies to him....

This one will: NSW RTA Towing Regulations which actually doesn't say that much about mirrors in all honesty... that's the RMA for you!

Had a look at Jurgens when I was in Aus, I like the T-Van's though... we tended to bush camp with swags and a tarp when we were over (once we'd got rid of our backpacker van!) as we had a 70 Series Land Cruiser.

If you can, put up a picture of your outfit, as the Australian stuff is quite different to the European vans (Euro vans don't last over there for a number of reasons, the main ones being suspension and windows)

I have some Milenco Aero mirrors and have used them for 4 years now. BY far the best clip on type mirror I have used. With the XC having large door mirrors to begin with I am considering the milenco aero xl type..

Just bought Milenco Aero Grand Towing Mirrors for my new XC60. They give very good visibility down both sides of my Caravan with only a small amount of vibration which does not detract from their use. They are quick to fit and remove and do not foul the doors when the car's mirrors are retracted.
