Default SRS Light

Right, my turn to ask a question!

Being the inquisitive natured person i am, i unplugged a wire just tucked next to my steering column adjuster, in the hope it would turn off all the lights on my dash (i want to get a dimmer switch you see, and thought this was the wire to use). All it seems to have done is made my SRS light come on, and stay on! Even though i've plugged it back in! And the plug is the right way round, because it only snaps together one way!

Any ideas people? I can't stand warning lights on when im driving!!

Please help-I promise never to fiddle again!! }(

Cheers,
Dan M

Sounds like youve unplugged an airbag / seat belt related cable and thus the ECU has flagged it as a fault. My guess is its a trip to your friendly volvo dealer to get it reset (unless you know of anyone with the right tool!)

Hope this helps and stop fiddling :P

Pffft amateurs ;)

Glad that made you laugh! Im now off to bed, to read my insufficiently documented Haynes Manual.....hopefully it will show me how to remove the bulb if nothing else! Lol :D

So, anyone else have any non-Volvo dealer and bulb removal suggestions?

Just suppose your airbag now goes off spontaneously? I'm with Matt on this one.

Having said that last week i was involved in an accident (not my fault for a change!) - 440 raced round a bend down hill, two cars (us in front, megan behind us) stopped on hill - the guy went straight into the back of the megan, megan went into us - wrote off his 440 and the megan - our company car (a rover 75) just had a minor scratch on it!!! Anyways, the guy swapped details etc... and drove this 440 off down the road - radiator pooring fluid, very little of his front left - i was amazed. His airbag had gone off - all he did was sit it on his lap and drove away. Ive never had the pleasure of setting one of though so i dont know how dangerous/fesiable they are when they go off.
