driving in darkness
hi
i have a 440 with the same kind of problem, i have been trying to solve this for the last year! work so far: checked all fuses.... no luck! removed all dash and changed bulbs... worked!!!!!!!! for half a day!!!!! tryed dimmer ....... no luck smaked dash as hard as i can...... worked twice he he now i belive its a breaker in the fuse box, check to see if you have two orange breakers in the fuse box? these are only avaliable from volvo by the way. if you only have one like me you can shift it around to the other slot to get thing shorted but........... you will lose other minor things like head lights etc hehehehe let me know how things go as i would like t share brains greg |

bit of an update on my light situation i gave the top of the console a good slap now i seem to have the heater and half of the direction control illuminated (gotta love the technical abuse i gave it to work) but at least i know its either a bulb that has gone or just lose wiring, which ill have a look over the weekend
furthermore i now confirm that the dimmer swith under the steering wheel also controls the lights on the centre console as well (heater/blowers) thanks for all the advice people lee
