the CCM is the unit the heater controls are mounted on . The CEM is an electrical box under the dash above your right foot ...

I would budget for about £800 inclusive to replace these two modules with labour parts , and software downloads .. What is wrong with them?

probably another quick aftersales money making scheme, otherwise they would have made the elctrical side a little bit more simpler i think.

All new cars are made this way now , much less wiring and many more features ... for example the instrument panel once had 50 wires going to it , now it has 5 ... what is wrong with your modules?

not exactly sure, it just says CEM or CCM failure, possibly a short circuit in the wiring but doesnt say where exactly, gives a error code of '1a55' and displays 'permanent' on diagnostic machine that couldnt delete the error due to the message. i asked the dealer but they still insist that i must still pay £92+vat hourly rate to plug there computer in for 10 minutes or so then they may need to carry out further checks. for this reason i am trying to find a local independent volvo specialist in or around the manchester area but the closes i can find is in southport, does any one know of any volvo speacialist in my area????????????????

It's not likely to be the CEM , that is the main computer , they need to check out the CCM , the live feeds and the earths before they condem it ... Is the CCM working ok or is it dead?
