I would imagine it wouldn't/couldn't be that simple...

Not sure what the ebay ones are tbh but an email to the seller should sort that out.

You will need the right type sure enough but at that price might be worthwhile having a play to see what can be achieved?

Also, there are a couple of "LHD" specialist sellers around (one in Basingstoke) who might have access to LHD spares??

The eBay ones are halogen ones. The easy way to tell is that the xenon ones are all silver on the inside where as the halogen ones have the black bits.

Bit of a hijack of the thread, but also a situation I may need to overcome in the future, as moving to Portugal soon and want to keep the car.
Mine is 2006 with HIDs but only lift on main beam, not active. I just noticed it appears that the off (driver's) side light has a 'flat' beam pattern, while the nearside has the kick up to the left. Assuming that is correct, is it possible to 'mod' the nearside unit so it is also flat?
My C class Merc had levers in the headlight units that you moved to give a flat pattern for continental driving-I just set them flat and left them :-)

No, but the good news is that LHD headlight units are much cheaper than RHD.

yeah...I was looking, but the only ones I could find (from Germany I think) are halogen, which appear to not be a straight swap....
