Congratulations on getting your car looking as fabulous as it surely does.

Good luck with the sale, but here comes the "but". I fear you're being very ambitious with your pricing.

Anyone looking to buy your car via Autotrader is almost certainly going to click on the link that takes you to the Autotrader valuation service. Typing in your registration number and mileage sadly returns a sales value of a fair bit less than your asking price.

It's happened on here many time before where the seller of a car looks to recoup the cost of many thousands of pounds worth of upgrades and renovation. Unfortunately, unless the car is a "classic" then that is very unlikely to happen.

It would be fabulous were you to prove me wrong and find a buyer at a price that rewards all your hard work and investment. I have to guess that the Autotrader ad will have turned up a few nutters and chancers, but not much else.

If we're honest, I doubt there's anyone on here who hasn't been caught out and ended up in a car situation that they'd come to regret.

Unless you are very lucky, or a crook, then cars only ever cost you money.

You've put a lot into your S60. Why not spend the next couple of years enjoying it? At 107,000 miles it's got at least the same again it. In a few years time the car will be worth less than it is now for sure, but you will certainly feels as though you got your money's worth.

As I say, good luck with the sale.

Cheers

Jack

lovely car, and in fantastic condition. Its a rare car, and becoming a classic sought after model - especially one in such good condition . Good luck with the sale.
I reckon the Volvo forums, and Pistonheads would be the best place to advertise a model which will be sought after by petrolheads. Most dealers i've come across don't know what the "R" model is, so i best most buyers wouldn't know what one was.
If you don't fancy selling it, hike the price by another couple thousand....then convince the wife you're REALLY trying to sell it...hopefully you'll get to keep it for longer...

Looks like a fantastic example, in my honest opinion not a bad price, I spent some time looking at S60R/V70R's about 6 months ago, but couldn't find a good one. If I hadn't decided to keep my T5 I would have been very interested, it will sell don't be put off by people who expect a car to be priced in accordance to autotrader values!!

Thanks Aks650,

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but anyone who really knows these cars will know the value of an obsessively maintained, genuine and clean example.

I am not looking to get back what I paid for maintenance on the car as that's exactly what I see it as....maintenance and upkeep.

Talking of Autotrader they start at £3500 (for higher mileage, customised ones) and go all the way up to £6900 for dealership ones. In that regard, it is a fair price.

I have 2 viewings lined up so it may well be gone soon.

And if it doesn't go at my asking price I'll probably end up keeping it as the member above suggested 😂

Your Autotrader link doesn't link directly to your car BTW.
