Good Lord, don't say that here - that is tantamount to sacrilege

The points Ninja59 makes regarding the video are not only true but highly important, especially for a novice. You want to start with the least amount of cut and work you way up. Starting with a heavy cutting pad + polish will quite probably end in a problem. Davekg has an excellent guide on DW. You could also buy 'The Art of Detailing' by Mike Philips on Amazon. As for Polishedbliss.co.uk, good site, I tend to use cleanyourcar.co.uk as they are only 6 miles from me.

Is now not a good time to mention I polish all my cars, and family's cars and friend's cars with a 9" 2.2Kw Fein angle grinder with a 7" orange waffle pad?

Various Poorboys liquids and a trigger spray bottle filled with water.

I've not ruined any paint so far...

Martin you should know better than to mention you use an angle grinder to polish your car on here.

I tried a local DIY carwash that recently appeared. Included in the options was a wheel cleaner called "Merlin's Blood".

It works really well, way better than Autoglym wheel cleaner.
