hi
remove front bushes and replace with poly bushes £50 for two, better handling steering and not any increase in nvh ,easy done with large g clamp or vice, the rear ones i never changed
but should be doable with with threaded rod and right diameter tubing

Smile how to

The volvo dealers have a special tool, suspect its hydraulic press type thing.

You might be able to make something similar with some large dia pipe and a bottle jack or some kind of hydraulic scheme, if your handy with welding and fabricating then should be possible.. but might be a bit of an investment vs buying new wishbones.

One thing to watch out for is the bar on the bush centre pin is not symmetrical so if you manage to get these in the 'wrong' way round youll have some unusual suspension geometry ! (see pic of new bush volvo gen)

You don't need to fabricate any tools, that's ridiculous. A decent bench vice, one which opens 6" or wider, will do, no problem.
