Default D5 Cambelt Change (specialist in South West?)

Hi Guys,

I am VERY new to this forum so please excuse me if this thread isn't in the right place! I have a 2005 Volvo S60 2.4D Auto with 105k miles on the clock. To my knowledge the cambelt has not been changed so I get the sense that I am on borrowed time! When should the belt have been changed, and how long do I realistically have before it gives out?

Does anyone know of any reasonable independents in the South West who can get this changed for me, at a reasonable price?

Truth be told I am on a bit of a shoestring at the moment so price is very important for me!

Does anything else HAVE to be changed at the same time as the cambelt?

Tom

Tensioner and idler with the timing belt.
Waterpump is very long lived in these cars and can safely be left on if not leaky or rough.
Check all aux belt pulleys particularly the two on the tensioner assembly and replace if in any doubt.
For what it costs it's prudent to replace the aux belt.
A failure mode in these cars is for the tensioner pulley to seize throwing the aux belt into the timing cavity and derailing the timing belt

Have you had a good look round under the bonnet for the silver sticker which should have been applied when new (genuine) belt fitted?
