A pretty capable car, although it didn't inspire me. Wife did comment on how nice the suspension was.

I haven't look into it are they all AWD old D5 engine, actually this was an old D4 AWD, ok once it got going...

Good car at the right price perhaps, but I wouldn't expect much in the way of mpg, think it was around 30, which if courtesy cars are anything to go by should be the worst you will achieve.
30 mpg ? For a diesel 4WD? I get around 25 mpg for my 3.0 litre petrol 4WD Polestar

Congrats on your new car.
D4 is still the excellent 5 cylinder so good choice. The car looks excellent and I'm sure you'll have fun with it. Rides better than the standard V60 and will get you most places in all weathers.

Cheers, I collect it a week Saturday. Amazingly it comes with a service contract so next years service is already covered... Yay!! So what's the story with this 2.4d Engine then?

The 2.4, 5 pot engine is brilliant. It had a few teething problems at first (like most new Volvo things) but they became very good (as yours). Most folk tend to 'follow fashion' and go for the D5 with it's extra power and even polestar them. While this extra 'kick in the neck and back' may be fun for a while, I prefer the smoother power delivery of the D4, or even the D3 as in my V70. Gear changes through the auto box are smoother and less clunky as well.

I'm sure your prospective purchase will be more than adequate, even exhilarating to drive. You won't notice the winter road dirt as much on that colour either, as compared to your V50 ☺.

My opinions only of course, but I get by with them mostly (she who must be obeyed may differ) 😀.

Good luck for next Saturday and let us know how you get on with it.
