Aftermarket water pumps are ticking bombs on this car. Aisin is about the only choice. Several people had their low cost pumps fail in less than 2 years on this engine. As for the belt and pulley, Gates would be the good option.

Yes... Definitely much better now. Picked her up from garage some 2 hours ago. All the humming gone and the engine works so smoothly that... I could hear a tiny metallic buzzing sound from front left... Dissapeared as engine warmed up...

Next quest.. One day..

Could be a rattle from the heat shield over the exhaust manifold

"Metallic buzzing" can mean different things to different people.

Could it be the air pump which feeds air through the SAS valve (against firewall) then into the cat to hasten its heating?

If I remember correctly (and if it still applies) the SAS valve (a one-way check valve) can stick open with age allowing moisture laden exhaust gasses to reach the air pump. There the moisture precipitates out and damages the electronics which are strategically (stupidly) located in the bottom of the unit.

If any of this applies to you the prophylactic measure is to drill one or two 3mm holes in the bottom to allow water to escape. The hole(s) only lessen the efficiency of the pump a bit.

Thanks for info about the pump, but I'll put my bets on that cover. Its sound I'm getting is more like a thin piece of metal shaking/vibrating.. I'll find out in few days.. For now I'm trying to enjoy the other project that I almost finished
