Default strange electric noise from under the bonnet

when I unlocked the car (engine cold), it started making a noise like an electric fan under the bonnet. Front right, can't see anything. Just been out, having left it a few hours, and it sounds like a ticking noise now...
I know the alarm is in that corner, and I removed the fuse a few weeks back, as it was going off all the time. Could it be related?

More than likely it is the brake vacuum pump running. Does it run for a few seconds then go off? If so, nothing to worry about.

No it seems to be running for 5-10 minutes at least.
I tried putting the fuse back in for the alarm. That made the noise different, sort of louder at first, but then it seems to go away, but still ticking a bit. I've left the fuse in to see what happens...

When the alarm siren goes it can make all sorts of peculiar noises seeming to come from the ecu box/ washer reservoir area. Even with the fuse removed the leaky battery can have enough charge to continue the noises.

Mine did this for a while , it was the headlight wipers trying and failing to park themselves. Try pulling the appropriate fuse to see if the noise stops.

May well be a melted alarm siren module. It still has a battery (or what's remaining) to power it. Stick an ear on the fender see.

The brake booster pump is low under the air filter assembly. Easy to spot if it's running.

On front right side there is a small cooling fan inside a tube between the ECM black box and the p/s reservoir.
