360 rear brakes
When I restored my 1986 360 I found one of the rear brakes was sticking, I wasn't sure if it had an oval drum or a sticking wheel cylinder and I wasn't bothered which so I decided to replace the lot rather than investigate as I was planning on keeping the car for a very long time... which I did but I only did 1k miles in it and I've sold it now.
So up for grabs for free are the drums, shoes and springs. There's loads of life left in the shoes and the drums have only got a tiny wear lip on them so even if one is oval it should come right with a skim, these are free for collection from Worcester. I also have a set of NOS genuine Volvo brake shoe springs for the rear brakes, £10 collected or plus postage. |

360 rear drums are 9" so different to the 340 8" drums ... 300 rear brakes last forever .. our first 1980 343 did 250,000 miles on its original and so has our 1988 343 although not that kind of mileage are still like new .

The friction material does indeed last ages, I don't think I've ever needed to change them on various 300's down to wear. However, I have changed a few wheel cylinders due to leaks.
Try chucking them on the facebook group? Generous offer, I'm sure someone will take you up on it! Last edited by SteveP; Dec 1st, 2021 at 10:31. |
