940 Body area thickness, Help asap please
Hi Everyone,
Our 940 is currently in bits with the tank off etc for some resto. Ill get some pictures up soon. I wanted some quick help on steel thickness in some areas before i order. 1. Sills? 1mm or 1.2? 2. Suspension turret at rear where shocker bolt goes through etc. Is that section thicker? I need to plate it as it rotted out in the hole where a gromit was missing :/ 3 floor area where jacking points meet floor, it looks thicker than yhe rest Thanks Mick

Hi Mick, I don't profess to be a professional welder, far from it, but the coating on Zintec is similar to galvanised, I know weld through primer is ok, but not sure if it would protect you from the fumes, may I suggest two things, 1, wear a good mask beneath your welding helmet, 2, Google about welding Zintec or galvanised metal, only thinking of your health sir. David.

Just done some research on zintec. Ill stick with my safe weld primer...Seems its pretty toxic and the fumes on thin steel can cause pretty flammable build up in filtration.
