Default Headlamp improvement - "almost night and day difference"

Just spotted this very short video on youtube. Now I think this chap has factory HID's in his early P1, because the "after" screenshot has very white light, but it should also make a difference to halogen cars.

Disassemble your headlamps as per the video and line the reflector bowl with high temperature 'aluminum' tape. I have a roll of this from Halfords that I bought some time ago so keen to try. May just do this later when I fit SKBOWE and HID Kit.

He claims it gives a "almost night and day" difference.

Not a bad idea at all, i'll have to pull out my lights when i'm next working on the car and take a look at the condition of the paint. At least they're dead easy to remove on these cars!

Yep, its Michael from SS forum, a real wikipedia dude and volvo fanatic. The mods time and effort he did to that V50 and his C30 are astonishing.

He has factory HIDs, indeed, but in both cases (h7 or D2s oem lamps) you can surffer from the same problem (burnt reflectors) so doing it is nothing but improvement.
Other people also suggested its possible to re-chrome those reflectors, apparently its half the cost of replacement projector and you are getting almost factory finish. I think there are companies in UK that does it for walk-in customers? (atleast watching Wheelers Dealers makes me think so) :P

Lol I did this to mine off my own back about 4 years ago!

I only had a small brown patch of the reflective coating missing so I cut an oval-shaped piece of aluminium foil tape, pre-polished it up and stuck it down much neater than that video (the stuff creases like mad).
