Volvo 850 Estate, 2.5 TDi CD Manual for SALE
Dear All,
A few months ago, I became the 2nd named driver of my uncles Volvo. He remained the registered keeper and I bought the car off him to keep at my residence and drive 90% of the time, to fill in the gap until I found the car of my dreams. Me being the Volvo enthusiast I am, I couldn't say no. Now I have an 850R saloon in manual (I feel so lucky!) so I have returned the estate to my uncle (yet it is parked at my parents) and he has now decided to sell it. He is the 2nd or 3rd owner of the vehicle. It has approx 155k on the clock. A solid reliable engine. Full leather interior with the walnut dash. Heated seats, cruise control, stereo etc. It is nearly 20 years old, so obviously it has signs of wear but far from a wreck as you can see (it has hardly any panel damage and no rust). My uncle has owned Volvo's for decades as has my Father. It has been well looked after. It needs a bit of work (far from urgent); -CD player doesn't work (or it could just be my dodgy CD's). -tailgate arms need replacing as they need to be held up for the tailgate to stay up. -front passenger daylight bulb has gone. I have lost my uncles logbook (whoops) so he has to apply for a new one which may take a week or two. Presently it is SORN in the West Midlands. If anyone is interested then the sale price is £650. Viewings are welcome but please leave me your email address if you pm me as I can't seem to reply back. If someone is interested enough to pay a deposit then I will hold for them until I receive logbook. Thanks. |

Thanks Minty, I wanted to give the story behind the car. We're all Volvo enthusiasts in my family so there was no way I was just going to quote facts and figures on the car. The buyer would be buying a car which has been loved and well looked after.
The car has really impressive solid engine. It made me smile every time I switched it on. I love old fashioned mechanical burbles, the type that shakes the car when it wakes up. It is such a cruiser to drive. I've taken it on a few motorway trips and it's more than comfortable cruising at 70-80mph on cruise control. Mpg wise, once I went from B'ham - Baldock - Hammersmith - West Ealing - B'ham....on 5 gallons of fuel! The 850R I will have from tomorrow has been the car of my dreams since I was 10, so I have not become too attached to this estate. Thanks PNuT for MOT Date reply. It has a few minor advisories but nothing urgent. Car can easily run for a long while yet in present condition. Starts first time no matter how long you leave it standing for. |

Cracking looking car and advert, steering wheel on its own is worth some £££ (around £150 last time I checked?)
And at that price, I would say too cheap! Decent TDI manuals are a little thin on the ground, a lot of folk prefer the 850 over the v70 (styling wise and that cubist interior). Unless its a smokers car? Would consider bumping the price up a little, or at the least don't take any under without good cause. |

I agree with Brickman, seems to cheap for a nice one, most 850 tdis are pretty rough. I sold mine with 230k, part service history and got £690 and while it was a good one yours is definitely even better, doubt you would struggle to get around £800 for it.
