Default Rear seat back

2001 v70 2.4
Drivers side rear seat doesnt fold down unless I use a screw driver as the plastic cover is cracked. Had anyone replaced the plastic panel where the slide switch is to put the seat down ?

The way the seat comes apart is relatively simple.
IIRC
Three screws (torx??) on the outer edge ( hidden when seat is "normal") one screw on upper surface. All hidden behind rectangle plastic caps. The trim can then be removed. Its in two pieces - the big bit you can see, and a small "Key" piece that fits at the front edge of the slot - to allow the seat belt to be withdrawn. In the back of my mind I think you need to pull all the belt out from the reel and secure it with a bungy or similar. I recall failing to do that and I had big issue trying to get the belt back out. So much easier to pull it out first then allow it to retract when the job is done. Under the plastic cover is the actual locking mechanism - its plastic and subject to failure - I have had to replace two.

Don't understand why the plastic trim is causing you issue and not the actual locking mechanism - but perhaps I'm slow, anyhow good luck.

Cheers
Bob
