1987 740 GLE Estate For Sale
Bought by my friend as a project. It was a barn/garage find 2 years ago - been sat since 1999 !
Replaced rear shocks and springs, cambelt, water pump, front engine seals and then took head off as valve stem oil seals had gone brittle. Head reconditioned at £300+ and replaced with new head gasket and bolts. Just had it mot'd this week and started smoking quite badly on way back home so selling as is unfortunately as he hasn't the time now to carry on with it. So good point are, really solid underneath with just some surface rust around rear arches, new heater matrix, engine work as above, only 127k on clock. Bad points, smoking when warm, usual speedo issue not working and sunroof sealed up, needs new tyres as they are cracking and have flat spots. Good project car with 12 months mot, source a cheap engine I think is the way to go plus some better tyres and car is good for another 20 years ! Car is in Wetherby, West Yorks. Would need to be trailered away due to above. Looking for £795ono. Cheers John Last edited by JOHN 850; Aug 24th, 2019 at 21:53. |

Wouldn't mind betting the PCV system is blocked or similar causing the smoke.
