Default Screen Wash Tank Breather/Overflow

After a bit of help please.

Whilst filling up the screen wash tank I noticed screen wash coming out of a small rubber pipe next to the filler neck. One end attaches to the top of the tank just at the side of the filler neck and the other is just dangling loose.

I don't remember this happening before and I've always filled up to the top of the filler neck.

Would someone have a look at their car and see if they have this pipe please and where it goes? A pic would be grand.

The parts diagram isn't a lot of help, it just shows a length of rubber hose, the same stuff as the rest of the washer system with a length of 265mm.

Mine's a 2001 MY V70.

Smile sounds correct

I think thats normal, if you fill the tank in a hurry it comes out of the short rubber tube before it floods out of the top, will snap a pic if i get a chance

I think I've answered my own question thanks to a picture of a second hand washer reservoir on ebay. It looks like there should be a clip for the end of the rubber hose at the top of the filler neck. I'm guessing that my clip has failed. I also saw pictures of other reservoirs with cable tie wraps holding the top of the hose so I'm guessing the clip fails quite often. I've now joined the tie wrap brigade.

Thanks for your reply Thassos, if you do get chance to look or take a pic for confirmation it would be appreciated.
