Default d5 diesel leak off test

hi all, iv done a leak off test as its not starting up that well in the morning.

im no expert, but nothing seems to be shouting out at me on what iv found.

i run the test for exactly 4 mins and got roughly 30-40mm of diesel and i dont know if thats excessive or not.

i did however find that some muck had come from 2 of the injectors and thats after a very recent liquid moly purge?.

TIA

Al.

The line I take is pressure.

Leak back looks good. 10ml per min compares well with the rule of thumb 40ml.
Slow crank speed either from bad earth strap or lazy motor or tired battery.
My earth strap parted at the lug under the starter motor. Quite common.
Have you a reader to tell crank speed?
HP pump - hope not. Plenty to check out first.
Glo-plugs barely needed unless the temperature is below 7C.

you mentioned the earth strap before and i mended it and thats why the cranking speed is good... battery's only about 5 months old too..

Do you have access to VIDA? I had the same issues on mine and used VIDA to live read the fuel pressure at the rail, this showed the pressure wasn't building high enough for it to fire.

Replaced in tank pump as that didn't work, and one injector (after doing the same as you) and 45K miles later its still going OK.

Does it turn over at the usual speed on the starter?
