Default Some weird ****...

I've become used to rolling my eyes when working on modern cars, but the new V70 reversing light switch took the biscuit yesterday

WTH is up with the weirdly bent pin on the switch, and the fact it is deliberately not going in to the spade connector, but sitting on top of it? I nearly went to get my pliers to straighten out the pin, when looking at the female connector's microscopicly wider opening on top on one side, and in the middle on the other side made me realise this is actually deliberate

WHY?

I don't get modern people...

Cool 'New' is not necessarily an improvement

Afternoon Henrik Just having a muse about what troubles certainly lie ahead for a hell of a lot of folk, with all the over complicated layers of electrical Gizmos being installed on modern vehicles,Many quite capable of bringing forward progress to a halt! Call me a Luddite if you wish, BUT,if you are in some 'far flung part of our globe' you can't call the AA,RAC,or Volvo on call. if you could. they would probably tow you to the nearest Volvo main dealer!!!
"Did you say Algiers?"

In these situations I am in the 'Simple is best' camp,Every time! Breaking down somewhere remote, i.e 100 miles from the nearest water,in a modern vehicle,is the stuff of nightmares to me.

Regards,Keith.

Well, had this connector off to do another oil change, and it's now not working at all.

So could one of those people who thinks this connector is so "brilliant" please explain how I get the reversing light/parking sensors working again?

Thanks

Pictures are always good. Why do you need to disconnect it for an oil change?
