Smile First Thoughts

Morning,

New to the world of Volvo and a few thoughts on the first three months of ownership.

Very pleasantly surprised with the S40 package (T5 SE Sport) and the handling of the car. Coming from a VX220 and an A3, expectations I have to say, were not too high.
The car has proved very capable and feels solid on the road. Been taking it easy for the last three months, and still impressed with the performance of the car. Being taken in for its three month "service" today, so this should see the car able to be driven a little harder !!

The controls and gadgets are easily understood and to hand. Key took a little bit of getting used to on the left hand side, although seem to be mastering it now.

Downside ?? Minor points really:
The lack of a left foot rest is sorely missed
The lack of a rear wiper (more used to hatchbacks !!)
The lack of a warning sound when you leave the side lights on.

Hopefully the servicing by Volvo will be at least equal to Audi, which was absolutely outstanding (shame their salesmen weren't as obliging).
I hope that the servicing is nowhere near that of Vauxhall which, unsurprisingly, was usually very poor (especially in Swansea).

Here's to at least the new three years of happy motoring. Off to read some of the threads to catch up on what's good/not so good in the world of Volvo.
