Electrically adjustable mirrors
I have a 262C that has the electric mirror adjustment. Well, in theory it does!
Although the switches down under the handbrake lever on the center console work in all four senses: up, down, left and right; the mirrors only respond left or right. Thus (say) switch both up & left actually adjust the mirror view to the left, and similarly for down & right. Below is the workshop manual diagram: [IMG SRC="http://www.jagsfamily.evesham.net/HTML/volvo/mirror04.jpg"] As you should be able to see, the mirror is only fitted with one electric motor and ... a relay? Does the mirror unit have some sort of 'gearbox' controlled by the relay, to cater for 'up&down', 'left&right' respectively? I'd like to know for certain before I go to the trouble of fitting replacement switches that I assume are faulty. Thanks for any help. Andy |
