Unhappy engine doesn't break'in after total dismount.....

HI everybody !

i'f a french owner of a 855 t-5 AT summum, and last week i decided to change the main front seal of my engin crankshaft, until there, no problem...

so i managed to separate the automatic gearbox from the engine, then i replaced it by a brand new seal..... until ther, still no problem.......

then, i re-fitted all that little people in the right place and THERE, a little problem occured : the car doesn't start...

by this "doesn't start" , i mean everything seems to be normal, but instead of firing in, the engine make a no funny "pac pac pa-pac pa-pac pac pac paf pac pa-pouf" then stall........ instead of the really lovely "glou glou vrooooommm glou glou glou glou glou" ( T5 owner will know what i mean this boat-like sound )

sometimes, when i try to start the engine and push a little the accelerator, it goes very high in rpm so i switch off instantly...

so does anybody know what it can be ?

and is there a way to get a picture of the llittle hoses connected to the intake manifold ? ( from turbo/fuel pressure regulator.... )

thanks you very much poeple

( hope i can go to holiday in 3 days..... )

I would start by re-tracing my steps and ensuring all the sensors have been reconnected...
Did you clean the mated edges of the gearbox/clutch and block..You may be having earthing issues..Try setting up a hybrid earth connection to the block and box...

Attempt to read any MIL codes

Did you remove the complete engine out for the oil seal change ? There are a few connectors that might look similar but used differently, make sure they're not crossed. Some sensors to be checked are :
1) Cam position
2) Crank / RPM / Engine - This is most probable fault, especially if it's hit by the gearbox during removal.
3) Engine Coolant Temperature

yes y have removed the complete engine / gearbox / engine support....

but about sensors, i'm quite sure or what i've done....

i have checked, and re-checked all the connectors....

about earthing connection, between gerabox and engine, it's good, because the startes ground plot is on the engine, and the main ground line is on the gearbox, end the starter...... starts

that's why i ask you any other solution....

about Jod T5 post.

yes, i cleaned every parts... and checked every connections...

about error codes... NONE ! only the ABS return error, saying that captors loop are open or short circuited.... i haven't tried to remove them .

thanks a lot.

Maybe you need to differentiate the problem to see if it's electrical or mechanical. To check the electrics, remove one of the HT leads to the spark plug and insert another plug into the lead, while touching that spark parks screw thread to the car's body. Ask someone to crank the engine and note if a good spark is seen jumping across the plug.

If there is nothing, go through all the electrical circuits and components. If a good spark is seen, then most probably fueling issues. Okay another fast check will be : When you turn on the ignition key before starting, do you see the lambda lamp while all other lights are on ? If not, it could be your main relay which is located above the radiator fan. This is a major culprit and the contacts can come loose due to excess movement during engine removal.

FINALLY !!!!!

i found what it was.................

it was an air leak !!! when i re fitted the intake manifold, a sticked the vapoured oil return hook between the joint and the manifold.... so nothing was sealed......

SO !! i'va put back the hook in is right place, IN FRONT OF THE MANIFOLD, and everithing is fine !!!!!

thanks a lot to everybody !

now the trick is to get this at gearbox shift...... lol

see ya.
