More power especially top end once rolling.
I don't have any problems with putting the existing power down. I did before I put on some good performance tyres but not anymore. I was almost convinced that the 19T / 3" downpipe / race cat / custom remap route is the way forward but then a spanner was thrown into the works when a tuner told me the 19T isn't really an upgrade over the 16T and I'd be better keeping the 16T and having a custom map / lightened flywheel / different air filter / different exhaust. So that kind of brings me back full circle if you know what I mean. |

Being a mature student on a budget I opted for the Upsolute remap, quoted 236BHP. No problems at all and pulls like a train. Mr Focus RS driver was upset being slowly but surely outrun by a 6 year old yellow 138,000 mile S40R (rebadged T-4 SE), so I reckon the 236 BHP is right on the money since I believe the Focus is quoted at 235BHP and probably a little lighter than the S40R. Mine you they use a volvo engine anyway so wouldn't have been upset if I hadn't lol. Torque = Accelration, BHP = Top Speed, think someone told me that once and the remap definately gave a lot more torque. Well happy for £299 with the bloke coming to your house and doing the work. Nocomplaints here!!!

Re map by Collins Engineering
They will not give an exact figure but not masively impressed over standard, realy thought it would feel much quicker but not been beaten by much either. Will give full boost more often than I remember than when standard but happy with performance for an Auto although the car has stainless exhaust and K&N.

Hi Clan, the engine in the Focus is different to the R engine. To quote Don Norchi:
" The Volvo engine in the Focus ST and S Max is the same B5254T3 that is in the current C30 T5, S40 T5, C70 T5 and in the V70 and S60 lpt and will be in the upcoming New Mondeo as the range topper until the new inline 6 is fitted next year. This Volvo B5254T3 is a low pressure turbo with a high compression ratio and small KKK turbo. The current Volvo S60 and V70 T5's are fitted with the entirely different B5244T5 engine which has a narrower bore and low compression with a larger KKK turbo fitted to a separate exhaust manifold, the 'ST' B5254T3 engine having a smaller KKK with integrated exhaust manifold. These two different current engines are not to be confused with the older, pre '05 B5234T3 engine in earlier Volvo 'T5's. Again there is another entirely different Volvo B5254T4 engine in the current Volvo S60R and V70R".
