Default Questions before purchasing

Hi
I currently have a 2010 XC70 d5 lux 145,000 miles, its been great. But its probably time to change, as its starting to show its age.
So thinking v90 cc. Looking at the v90cc and v90. Whats the difference in the touring and dynamic chassis? My XC70 has self levelling suspension and like its towing and off-road ability. Would one be better for us has be do tow monthly and live very rurally.
Going to look at a 2017 v90cc this weekend (also same dealer has a vw tourag for me to compare). But further afield is a v90cc pro, that if I like the one I see might be worth a trip. Options could be the v90 but awd is a must.
More interested in the D5 again than the D4, but with towing the extra powers useful, whats mapping ( as well as the polestar) of the d4 like?
Many thanks

Then why not the XC90?

A V90/XC90/S90 with a D4 engine and having towing capabilities...well it's not the smartest choice. Stick with the D5 engine. The polestar optimization will turn your 190 hp engine into a 200 hp engine so it's not relevant.

After four great XC70s, Im very happy with my V90CC.
Even the slopier tailgate has not been as inconvenient as feared - the only slight downside I can think of.

I have no towing experience but would not recommend the D4 anyway - its adequate at best, underpowered at worst (IMHO - others may disagree!), so go for a D5; noticeably more power, little difference in economy or emissions.
And if thats still not enough, just add Polestar! - I was very happy with that set-up - until, with my slightly declining mileage, I got tempted by a naughty little T6 - with Polestar, of course...

If equipment/options matter, be aware that quite a few advertised as Pro models are not.
Quick visual checks are 19 wheels and front fogs; internally, stitching on tailored dash & doors cappings, and 12.3 driver display (two main dials).

V6 Touareg will better anything Volvo can offer for towing and off-road (owned 2 x before XC90). But the 2010-2017 second generation car is dated in terms of tech, infotainment etc compared to any SPA Volvo.

Depends on your priorities

Current model Touareg is very plasticy inside compared to current Volvos, a colleague has one, seems smooth enough, less engine clatter than a diesel Volvo, but below your elbows the plastics are hard and scratchy.

FYI, from MY19 onwards, the standard CC has the tailored dash & doors along with the 12.3" display (19s are optional).
