Hi all.

Have a 1986 760 Turbo Intercooler

I am just wondering if anyone has any reliable sources for where they take their cars or have taken their cars previously. I would like to take my car to somewhere that has lots of experience with these types of cars, rather than someone second guessing when I take it.

Thanks in advance.

Just a general suggestion, if you do find a garage that seems suitable in your area, try and find people who have used that garage and what their experience was.

I had a quick look through that list and recognised a few garages from over the years. Most i wouldn't trust with a wheelbarrow out of those i did recognise and i have receipts in the history file for my current 760 from one garage on that list - suffice to say if they did what was on the receipt i wouldn't have had to re do it, or to be more accurate, do it for the first time in the cars life.

I'm not naming any names (good or bad) as it's possible that someone tinkered in between whiles but that is doubtful.

Also if you (or should i say your car) has a problem that seems a bit odd, there are loads of knowledgeable people on here more than happy to help, even if only with an opinion of what it most likely is.
That might give you more of an idea of what your chosen garage is actually suggesting and whether it's a likely scenario.

Funnily enough the two garages I have used recently aren't on that list. They were both excellent and knew Volvo's ( of all ages ) inside out. They were also very competitive in their labour charges

If you fancy a nice drive and a little visit to Lochmaben ( nice cafe's and a walk round Mill Loch ) you should visit Andy at Dumfries Volvo. Really great guys who know 700/900 series inside out and are also building a very interesting 940 rally car !

Give my brother a ring in Salford. He has helped me with my 700/900 series. I have 2 760's at the moment. Ams 0161 877 7511.
