Not sure, the last oil change was 10k miles ago before I purchased the car. Since I purchased it in December I have put 6 litres through it and covered about 3k miles.
How long will it take to clog the DPF?

I honestly don't know. I suppose it depends on what kind of driving you do. If its motorway miles, maybe it wont clog. Short journeys, a lot sooner. Sorry i can't help any further.

Thanks. I will get it booked into a garage for a compression test soon to confirm if the engine is dead or not. Replacement reconditioned engines don't seem to expensive and the rest of the car is in remarkable condition so I think it will be worth it.

TBH, at that mileage, it's barely run in.. Mine (05 model year) is on 240,000 miles and doesn't use a drop between changes. Does the car start ok, particularly from warm? If it does, without excessive cranking, then I think your compression will be fine.

Couldn't see anyone mentioning the CCV system in the thread, but that's where I'd be looking, if the crankcase breather is blocked, it can force oil past even good rings, to be burnt. Pop off the oil filler and start the engine, there should be a little back pressure, but if it's blowing oil out, I would be checking the crankcase ventilation system for blockages.

Mine uses a similar amount of oil, maybe slightly less. It's a 56 plate with the 185 engine. I'll try the oil cap trick when I get home tomorrow...how 'easy' is it to check the CCV for blockages?

I haven't had a chance to check the compression yet but its starts on the button weather its hot or cold.
The car has plenty of power and runs smoothly as well so I'm not convinced its rings. I'm still yet to see even the slightest puff of white smoke from it but I know the DPF will be masking it.

CCV could be the issue. There is some smoke coming out of the filler cap but it looks similar to other videos I have seen on Youtube etc.

Hiflyer, how many miles has yours done? are you having DPF issues?

Nope. No issues at all. It's on about 165k now.
