PV 544 brakes
I have recently bought a partially dismantled 1961 PV 544 and I have no brakes. I have just taken off the drums and there is nothing there, no shoes, wheel cylinders, springs or adjusters. Is it easy to source these parts or can Amazon shoes etc. be used? Grateful for your recommendations.

Get hold of a copy of the parts manual - easy to find as PDF on line - to make sure you get the right bits if you want to stay with the original system.
It sounds like you have a bit of a bitsa so make sure what you have is correct too. This could be an opportunity to upgrade the front to discs if you want - in which case a single circuit Amazon system is worth thinking about. Certain suppliers do kits (not cheap in my opinion).

Everything is available from Brookhouse. I've recently bought most of it for mine, no problems.

Its not really a bitsa, just bitsa missing! The advice on the parts list was useful, I had been doing a lot of head scratching about the bonnet opening mechanism and I can now see how it works. I should have learnt by now not to buy a car in bits but there are not many PVs in the UK and this one was local.
